about I was born in Hamilton Ohio in 1950. I lived in Colorado, Pennsylvania New Jersey, Arizona, Connecticut, Rhode Island and New York before I moved to Philadelphia with a new medical degree in 1976. Today I work in West Philadelphia as a Professor of Medicine at the nation's oldest medical school and University teaching hospital, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. I specialize in pulmonary and critical care medicine. I write and teach about palliative care for people who suffer from advanced lung disease. I have
